The Get To Know Me Tag: Writer's Edition (i.e. me rambling about myself and my writing) (I LIKE TALKING ABOUT MYSELF OK LEAVE ME ALONE)

Hey guys! So it looks like I've been tagged again, and in a startling turn of events, I'm actually going to do this within a couple of weeks of getting tagged!! I KNOW. I'M VERY SURPRISED AT ME TOO.

I was tagged by the lovely Gray Marie from Writing Is Life, thank you!! Her blog is amazing, if you haven't followed it yet, like... what are you doing with your life child. Go check it out like now.

So it looks like this is a tag where I get to answer questions about two of my favourite topics to ramble about, i.e. 1: my writing, and 2: myself. (Look I like to talk about myself okay?? Call me self-centred if you will, but I can't help it. That's just the way it is.) So this will be FUN.*

* Maybe.

Anyway, let's dive right in!

Rules:

link back to the person who created the tag -
- thank the person who tagged you -
- share the tag graphic (optional, optional! I know it won't go with everyone's blog design) -
- tag eleven bloggers –

Vital stats / Appearance

(pen)Name: Andrea and I'm not sharing my last name online haha no. (I'm sorta paranoid about these things?? Idk.)

Nicknames: Strangely enough I don't think I've ever had a nickname? Aside from those silly little nicknames that your parents give you when you're about three years old (and I don't actually remember them either), no, I've never had a nickname.

Birthday: 18th January

Hair color and length: Dark brown and it's roughly shoulder-length.

Eye color: Light brown with dark green around the rims of my irises.

Braces/piercings/tattoos: I've had braces for over a year, hopefully I only have to wear them for a few more months (I CAN'T FREAKING WAIT TO BE FREE OF THEM OMG) and I've had my ears pierced since I was ten but I never wear earrings and I think my piercings have almost closed up?

Righty or lefty: Righty

Ethnicity: Caucasian

Firsts

First novel written: ... Does a 15-page long story about a mermaid version of Sherlock Holmes (PLEASE DO NOT ASK) that I wrote when I was ten count as a novel? Because I was so proud of it at the time and I kept telling everyone that I'd written a novel, but like... it's 15 pages long? So it's not exactly a novel?

I wrote a 35,000 word story over 2016 called Team Supernova which was the first long writing project I ever manage to complete, but I don't think that counts as a novel, it's more a novella? Idk.

(There was also a 44-page-long monstrosity spy story that I wrote when I was eleven which was basically just me ripping off one of my favourite series and failing miserably, but we don't talk about it.)

First novel completed: As I mentioned, Team Supernova was the first proper-length writing project I ever completed, but it wasn't exactly a novel.

Award for writing: I've never won anything for my writing, probably because I've never actually entered a writing competition or anything like that - I want to though!

First publication: Hahahahaha no. I've never written anything that is anywhere near good enough to be published. My first publication will probably be in 2025 which is the year that I predict my WIP will be ready to be published

Conference: Yeah I don't even know what that means, so...

Query/Pitch: See above comments on publications and 2025

Favourites

Novel (that you wrote): Can I say my current WIP? Because it's the only novel I've ever worked on that is actually worth the paper it's written on.

Genre: Sci-fi and fantasy (especially dark fantasy) (I HAVE A DARK SOUL FEAR ME)

Author: OOH THIS IS HARD. I like lots of authors?? If I have to pick just one... maybe Cassandra Clare? I really freaking love the Shadowhunters books

Writing Music: I never listen to music while I write... I need complete silence to be able to concentrate properly? Music just distracts me. I MUST HAVE SILENCE CHILD.

Time To Write: I usually write in the hour's spare time I have before dinner, roughly from about 5.30 until 6.30, tho this varies depending on the day.

Writing Snack/Drink: Ummm... I don't usually eat or drink while I write, sometimes if I'm a bit peckish I'll eat an apple because I'm a healthy child

Movie:
Of the moment? Definitely the Pitch Perfect movies. XD XD Oh man, I just absolutely love those films, they're so funny and the music is so good!

Writing Memory: Oooh I don't know? Maybe when I started working on my current WIP and I started getting to know my main character and I just fell in love with my story. Writing "Flames" was a pretty good writing memory too, I just sat down at my laptop and let the words flow from me and  put all my heart and soul into it and I was just so absorbed in my writing and it was EPIC.

Childhood Book: Oh God... uuhhhhh... maybe Alice In Wonderland? I re-read that about five million times, I LOVED IT SO MUCH. I watched the Disney film about five million times too (I feel sorry for my poor parents who had to watch it with me all those times).

Currently

Reading:
Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo. I read Six of Crows and I freaking loved it and  when I finished it I needed the sequel like yesterday but they didn't have it at any of my local libraries so I had a panic attack (I'm not joking. I LEGIT HAD A PANIC ATTACK. I AM VERY MENTALLY STABLE CLEARLY) until I remembered that I actually own a Kindle and I could just buy the sequel in ebook format? It cost five pounds which is the amount of pocket money I get every month, so I asked my parents if I could swap my monthly pocket money for an ebook and they said yes. So now I'm broke but I have a book so life is good. My priorities are very straight. Very, very straight. Straighter than me at any rate

Writing: My WIP which has no title bc I cannot title things for the actual life of me

Listening to:
Nothing really? I haven't been listening to much music lately. I don't even know.

Watching: Um well I was watching season 12 of NCIS but that finished this week and they're not going to broadcast season 13 anytime soon so I'm not really watching anything at the moment? I think I might go back to Stargate SG-1, which I was watching before but I paused in the middle of series three bc I was a little bored of it.

Learning:
to not stress out over tiny little things and to be more honest with myself and other people and to just CHILL basically because omg, I'm a bundle of nerves.

Future

Want To Be Published: WELL DUH

Indie or Traditional: I'd prefer traditional, just because most of the books you find in bookstores are traditionally published? I think you get more publicity and more people buy your books if you're traditionally published. I haven't done much research yet tho.

Wildest Goal: To be an internationally bestselling author and have millions of fans around the world who love my writing and are desperate to get their hands on every book I publish and who gush all over the internet about how amazing my books are.

Look, it says "wildest goal", okay? Not "realistic, sensible goal". LET ME DREAM, CHILD. LET ME DREAM.

(Also why do I keep randomly calling my readers "child"? I have no clues. If anyone has clues pls let me know.)

OKAY SO THAT IS IT. Now it's time to tag. I TAG:

I'm pretty certain that you all write...? If I tagged you and you don't, then: oops.

Anyway I hope you enjoyed reading this, gotta run now, talk to me in the comments!

Stay wild,

>>Andrea
